Disney+: Schedule Status & Listings  3rd to 21st February 2025

SEASON RIGHTS: S1-S36 LISTINGS SOURCE: Disney+ Disney+ is the new home to new episodes of The Simpsons in the UK and Ireland. Season 36 premieres on the streaming service soon, and is expected to be released at a rate of one episode per week. In advance of that, "The Past and the Furious", a Disney+ exclusive episode, is coming to the streaming service on Wednesday, February 12th (a transatlantic streaming exclusive, it's being released the same day both here and in the USA). If you missed, Disney+'s first full-length exclusive episode, "O C'mon All Ye Faithful", is still available to watch (double-length, too!)

Channel 4 & E4: Schedule Status & Listings  3rd to 21st February 2025

SEASON RIGHTS: 1, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29, 30, 31, 32 LISTINGS SOURCE: Channel4.com, Digiguide E4 are currently airing the show on weekdays at 4pm, 5:30pm, 6:30pm, 8pm and 8:30, with a late-night episode or two at varying times almost every day, also. Yes, weekdays are absolutely packed on E4 - they're clearly making the most of their investment in the show! We get seasons 17 and 29 then 26 in the 4pm hour, season 11 then 20 in the 6:30pm slot, season 26 then 14 in the 8pm hour, and various seasons overnight. It's good news on weekends too: we get a handful of episodes from season 11 on Sunday teatime, and even better, the terrestrial premiere of season 32 continues. E4 are airing that season in double-bills on Sundays from 8pm, with repeats on the subsequent Thursdays and Fridays at 7pm (those are in addition to all of the slots mentioned above). Friend of the page Christopher Wickham has some commentary on what E4 may or may not cut from their broadcasts. What's even more exciting is that, as confirmed in a press release, E4 will be the home of the show's linear, broadcast premieres in the UK moving forward, inheriting Sky's mantle. From season 36, Disney+ will be premiering the show in the UK and Ireland, with E4 then broadcasting the season later in the year. What of seasons 33 to 35, which Sky have premiered and C4 have not yet inherited the rights to? I feel certain they will eventually show up on E4, but presumably Sky's legacy contract will determine when that will eventually be. The show also remains on Channel 4 during weekend daytimes, with the usual hodgepodge of episodes on Saturday and Sunday mornings, and Sunday lunchtimes. There's the occasional overnight slot, too. They're currently airing season 7; season 6 follows. Episodes starting between midnight and 5am are listed as part of the previous day's schedule, similar to most print TV guides. Note that all episodes are simulcast on Channel 4 HD or E4 HD and can be viewed one hour later on their timeshift services, Channel 4 +1 and E4 +1.

SEASON RIGHTS: 1, 6, 7, 11, 12, 13, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 23, 24, 25, 26, 29, 30, 31 LISTINGS SOURCE: RadioTimes.com, Digiguide RTÉ2 are currently home to the Irish free-to-air premiere of season 32! After experimenting with a weekly slot for new episodes last time around, RTE are back to a five-premieres-a-week system; it's airing in the usual 4:30pm weekday slot. Additionally, occasional bonuses from other seasons appear on Wednesday and Friday evenings. There's (almost) nothing currently on weekends, and, as usual, some episodes are skipped due to content concerns.

Sky Showcase: Schedule Status & Complete Listings  3rd to 21st February 2025

SEASON RIGHTS: 2, 3, 4, 5, 8, 9, 10, 15, 21, 22, 27, 28, 32, 33, 34, 35 LISTINGS SOURCE: Digiguide Sky Showcase are currently broadcasting four episodes a weeknight, from 5pm to 6pm and then 7pm to 8pm. (The US Office occupies the 6pm hour.) Weekends remain less predictable, typically home to six or more episodes throughout the day. Currently airing: season 35, in two concurrent runs - generally, that's one run in the 5pm, 7pm or 7:30pm weekday slots, and a repeat either in a 5:30pm weekday slot, or on a weekend. Following that is season 33. We also get some romance-themed episodes on Valentine's Day, once S33 wraps; but no word yet on what comes after that. As discussed above, premieres of the show in the UK and Ireland will now take place on Disney+, followed later by E4. So we won't be getting season 36 on Sky anytime soon. It's hard to know what Sky's long-term strategy will be with the show now, once the jewel in Sky One's crown; but there's no shortage of repeat broadcasts in the short term, clearly. As always, some episodes deemed unsuitable for daytime broadcast are skipped, and some episodes don't get a second run depending on Sky's weekend schedule. Episodes starting between midnight and 5am are listed as part of the previous day's schedule, similar to most print TV guides.
